What does a volunteer do?
Each of our volunteers brings their own individual skill set and interests to our organization. Our biggest need, at all times, is people to help clean the Adoption Center. We are looking for dedicated volunteers to commit to a weekly day/time to come in and clean & disinfect the cat areas. Other volunteers enjoy coming in and helping with laundry, dishes, and feeding; and some prefer to just come and socialize with the cats when we are open! We also look for volunteers to join our fundraising team, as well as volunteers who enjoy office work such as filing, bookkeeping, and adoption follow-up phone calls. We are currently seeking a Volunteer Coordinator - please contact us if you are interested!
Who can volunteer?
Anyone who loves cats and is able to follow our policies and procedures is welcome to volunteer! Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during their volunteer time.
How do I become a volunteer?
Please submit an application by clicking the button below and completing the form. Alternatively, you may stop in at the Adoption Center and pick up a printed copy to fill out. Please note that before beginning your volunteer work at SCSCR, you must sign a volunteer agreement and waiver form. Any persons under the age of 18 must have parental consent. Once you have been accepted as a volunteer and begin working regular hours, you will be given the password to the Volunteer page of this site which has an electronic copy of the volunteer handbook, cleaning instructions, and special updates on caring for the cats.
