Become a hero today and give a cat a second chance at a family.

Fees

Every cat in our care receives the highest standard of treatment. This includes medical services, high-quality food, low-dust cat litter, heated beds, and more.

Our standard adoption fee for the majority of cats and kittens is $75.00, although there are fee reductions when adopting multiple cats. Adoption fees are waived for veterans of the United States armed services.

What does the adoption fee include?

* Spay/neuter
* FVRCP vaccination(s)
* Rabies vaccination (if old enough)
* Deworming
* Microchip with lifetime registration

Upon successful adoption of your cat or kitten, you will be provided with all necessary documentation, including veterinary records, vaccination history, microchip details, and insurance information.

Rules

All adopters must complete an adoption application and agree to meet with the cat they wish to adopt face-to-face. We believe in making the best possible matches between cat and family, and firmly believe this includes allowing the cat to be part of the adoption decision. We are very particular about the families our cats go to, and have set certain guidelines. We understand that your opinion may differ from ours, but appreciate your understanding.

Once a match has been determined, the adopter will sign an adoption contract and agree to all terms of adoption, which include:

  • accepting all responsibility and care for the cat as a family member

  • declawing is strictly forbidden

  • notify SCSCR of any transfer of ownership

  • in the event the cat must be surrendered, it must be returned to SCSCR
