Holistic Therapy and your Cat
Essential Oils:
Essential oils are the natural, aromatic volatile liquids found in shrubs, flowers, trees, roots, bushes, and seeds. The distinctive compounds in these oils are used by the plants to defend against insects, environmental conditions, and disease, and are vital for life and growth.
Essential oils for humans are used in massage therapy, aromatherapy, emotional health, personal care, nutritional supplements, and household solutions, among many other things. They can be ingested orally, absorbed through the skin, or inhaled from a diffuser.
We use Young Living Essential Oils for ourselves and our animals. These oils are pure, therapeutic-grade products. Please be aware that many "essential oils" found at local health food stores are considered "perfume quality," as their chemical structure has been over-processed and denatured. Remember, it is important to research information on any major change to your cat's life. If you are interested in trying essential oils, even for yourself, we are a distributor of Young Living Essential Oils and would be glad to discuss the oils and their therapeutic properties with you. Laser therapy:
We recently discovered the amazing benefits of using the
Companion Therapy Laser.
The laser can usually be used without anesthetizing the animal, and
expedites the healing process by stimulating deep cellular activity.
Inflammation is reduced, damaged tissue is healed, and overall quality of
life is improved.
Laser treatment is the only remedy we have found for diseases like
stomatitis, and we have seen first hand how quickly an open wound heals
after just one treatment.
If you are interested in trying Companion Laser Therapy, call Bischoff

Music:
We're not the only species that can appreciate music! The benefits of music on the happiness and well-being of animals is extraordinary. We play the Healing Touch for Animals music cd, which was composed specifically for different body frequencies. Our cats are calm and many like to lay in front of the stereo when they aren't feeling well. Our friends at the vet clinic tried the cd and called immediately to tell us that the dogs in the back had not only stopped barking, but they were sound asleep! You can play your own relaxation music at home and receive similar benefits. However, be aware of the type of music you play. While Mozart, for example, was an amazing composer, his music is upbeat and complex, which provides the opposite effect of calm and relaxation.
HTA:
Healing Touch for Animals®
(HTA) is a bio-field energy-medicine modality combining philosophies,
techniques and applications to promote energy balance and healing of our
animals. This program introduces holistic concepts to assist with injuries,
illness, surgeries, wound healing, behavioral problems and stress related
issues.
Bio-field therapies are recognized and funded by the National Institute of
Health. HTA works by releasing endorphins to establish a deeper relaxation
and state of being, which allows the body to function at a greater level.
When muscles relax, circulation is increased; this sends more oxygen,
nutrients, and hormones into the body to support healing.
